Space out the games in the regular season (and/or decrease the number of regular season games), no back to back games, and increasing the duration of time between playoff games. Also (perhaps most importantly) decreasing the wear and tear that these player have even before entering the league (limit year round AAU at young ages; i.e. 8-9 years old)
