If I was hiring product manager roles for developer centric products today, I think I’d put more of an emphasis on knowing how to understand code now more than ever. No, I’m not talking about leet code, I’m talking about reading code and understanding what it does. Why? Because we have more power than ever to quickly prototype, test, fix bugs, and add simple features in the advent of coding assistants. This is effectively a measure of how much friction you can reduce for the engineering teams you work with.
